Paisley Shop

Rainbow Turtle operate a wonderful little treasure trove of a shop in the centre of Paisley. The shop opened in August 2002 and is staffed almost exclusively by a dedicated team of volunteers. We are always looking for more volunteers so please pop into the shop or visit our volunteers page for more information.

We offer a wide variety of fairly traded food and drinks along with an extensive range of ecological household products. Many of these are available to be refilled, thereby reducing waste packaging and making it even easier for you to help the environment (and also save money). We also stock a great range of fairly traded gifts and crafts from around the world including cards, stationery, jewellery and fashion accessories, clothing for adults and children, cookware, kitchenware, toys and pocket money items for children.

If you’d like to check what we have in store before you visit, click here to search for the item that you’re looking for.

7 Gauze Street, Paisley

The shop is situated on the corner of Smithhills Street and Gauze Street, on the ground floor of the Methodist Central Hall. The shop is easily accessible by car or public transport and there are disabled parking spaces right outside our shop. Many of the bus routes servicing Paisley stop outside or just along from the shop, whilst Paisley Gilmour Street Railway Station is only a 5 minute walk away. The front windows of the shop look out onto the magnificent Paisley Abbey.

(Normal) opening hours:

  • Tuesday – Saturday
  • 10 am – 4 pm

We hope to be providing more information about when the shop will open up in the near future. (We open on Mondays in the run up to Christmas – November and December – and occasionally hold special evening shopping events for members of our Friends of Rainbow Turtle)
